Culture Dig
A guided way to find out what your organization's culture is really doing. Seven small teams dig into the evidence while everyone else contributes a short story — then you bring both together into one report.
What it takes
- 8–12 weeks
- 7 small research teams of 2–4 people
- One story link for everyone else
- You run it; facilitation is available separately
The seven domains
Each gets its own team, its own research guide, and its own section in the final report.
Beliefs & Values
Schein's second layer: the gap between what the organization says it values and what it actually lives.
HR Systems
Formal people systems — hiring, promotion, evaluation, compensation, discipline — and what they signal about the culture.
Artifacts
Schein's first layer: the physical and digital objects, spaces, and symbols that encode cultural meaning.
History
Founding stories, pivotal events, crises, and successions — how the culture came to be what it is.
Stories
The informal narratives that circulate — who gets talked about, what the stories reward and punish.
Rituals
Ceremonies, recurring events, and transitions — onboarding, promotions, send-offs — that mark belonging and status.
Stakeholders
How the organization relates to customers, partners, regulators, community, and other external stakeholders.
What you get
- A program workspace with a team per domain, and a research guide in each one.
- A story link for everyone in your organization, which collects narratives and asks people to interpret their own.
- Analysis across both kinds of evidence, drafted for you and editable everywhere.
- A findings report you can edit and download as a PDF.
- One wave of data collection. When you're ready to measure again — months or a year later — add another wave for $3,500, up to four in all, and your report will show what changed between them.
This is the software, not the consulting
You run the program: you form the teams, do the research, hold the analysis session and write the report, with the platform guiding and doing the heavy lifting. No gothamCulture facilitator time is included.
Would you rather we ran it with you? That's a facilitated engagement, and it's a conversation rather than a checkout — tell us about your organization.
$7,500
One program and its first wave of data collection, however many people you collect stories from. Later waves are $3,500 each.
